Mike and Teri Robinson – Directors

Mike Robinson lives in Cameron and is a father of six and Grandpa Mike to five. Mike holds a degree in theater directing with a minor in playwriting, a testament to his lifelong commitment to the performing arts. His journey in the world of theater began at a young age, influenced by his mother’s involvement in producing ward roadshows. Since then, he has left his mark in many theatrical circles, donning various roles as a director, actor, and playwright. He is also an accomplished musician. He runs an open mic night at 3rd Street Fusion in Cameron and is a guitar teacher.  He is a member of the Cameron Community Players. Additionally, he spearheads his own project, Homespun Productions, which successfully produced A Christmas Carol for the last two years. Mike not only directed this beloved holiday classic but also authored the adaptation, showcasing his creative capacity. Mike’s passion for theater transforms stories into experiences that connect deeply with audiences and leave a lasting impression. He believes in the power of storytelling as a means to provoke thought, stir emotions, and create a profound connection between the audience and the performers. He has been a participant in the Far West Stake’s production of Savior of the World every year and is humbled to have been asked to direct this year. He has a special place in his heart for this production as he has been a powerful and personal witness to how it can change the lives of the people who sacrifice to be a part of it.

Teri Robinson lives in Cameron and is a second grade teacher at Covel D. Searcy Elementary School in Gallatin. She is the mother to six children and grandma to five.  She has been involved in theater in some manner since she was a young girl. She has worked in many productions over the years as a make-up artist, prop manager, costumer, actor, stage manager, and director.  She currently spends her summers with the Cameron Community Players. She has been a member of the CCP for 15 years and has served as a board member for the last six years.  She has directed several shows for the CCP and has been the director of the CCP summer youth theater program for 11 years.  Teri served as the director of Savior of the World during the first two years of the Far West Stake’s production, and her initial experience with the production was marked by the extraordinary witnessing of many miracles. Her favorite aspect of directing is the magical transformation that takes place when a production begins to take on a life of its own, leaving an indelible impact on the lives of those involved. She believes that Savior of the World has the potential to change people in a far greater capacity than any other production, and it remains one of her all-time favorite pieces to direct. She is deeply humbled and honored to have the opportunity to direct this sacred work once again this year.

Monica Fawson – Music Director

Monica first joined the Far West Missouri Stake’s production of Savior of the World in the role of Mary Magdalene (2016 & 2017). She now joins the production team as music director. Monica studied vocal performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA for a short time before choosing to train as a vocalist and private vocal coach with two of the world’s top vocal instructors – Nashville’s Brett Manning and Hollywood’s Seth Riggs – where she would eventually receive Mr. Riggs’ personal endorsement as an instructor. Monica has coached vocalists privately (both formally and informally) since 1995, has been the musical director for multiple children’s theater productions, served for several concert seasons as a guest conductor for the Grand River Valley Choir and Orchestra in Trenton, MO, and most recently taught as a K-8 music teacher. Additionally, Monica served simultaneously as ward choir director and primary chorister for several years in her local congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While Monica enjoys teaching music, she also loves performing and has spent a generous amount of time on stage. Monica sings with great passion and emotion and seeks to bring that quality out in those she works with.
